Hello. For work, I start consulting engagements with a discussion of business goals rather than a deep dive into tools and techniques. I’m well versed in business development and revenue creation – supporting both through public relations, marketing communications, community development and content creation. I’ve worked at two leading PR agencies – Schwartz Communications and Topaz Partners, and as Director of Development & Media Relations at the NU’s Center for the Study of Sport in Society. Now, I wear my own sandwich board at Almost Ubiquitous working with innovative clients like Mzinga, InkHouse and Sonos.
I have two master’s degrees from Northeastern University (MBA 2000 is the one I tend to talk about) & B.S. Advertising degree from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School (back when copy layout was done with scissors) and several certificates from School of hard knocks. I fully embrace the opportunities presented by the changing world for marketing, media and consumers. I wonder if sometimes we’re all carnival barkers and side show hucksters, but rationalize that, a ride on the Facebook Ferris Wheel and a spontaneous spin on the Twitter retweet roller coaster IS worth the risk.
I’m a proud dad; a huge supporter of Liverpool F.C. (greatest football team the world has ever seen), Boston and Syracuse sports teams (but not weather) and can also be seen as #21 on the old soccer team Arlington Fossils; love music by Beastie Boys, Elvis Costello, The Clash, Sonic Youth, DEVO, John Coltrane, Liz Phair & Nosson Zand; movies from Sofia Coppola & Wes Anderson; fashion from Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Puma & Romeo Gigli; beer from Belgium; food from the Lower East Side; and almost ubiquitous at Tweetups & hookups.
