Newhouse School alumni Lea Marino ’08, community manager with Bizzy, and Adam Zand ’87, a consultant with Almost Ubiquitous, will present “A Newhouse Degree in the ‘Real World’: Is there a good life for you in PR, social media or marketing after Newhouse?” The event, which will wrap up with a question-and-answer session, is free and open to the campus community. Follow the talk on Twitter at #LifeAfterNewhouse.

“We are two Newhouse graduates from different generations,” says Zand. “Both of us have taken our Newhouse degrees and applied them to work in social media, communications and tech. With this event, we hope to provide an opportunity for Newhouse students to meet, ask questions and learn what they can find in the professional world of PR, marketing, social media and community management.”

Marino and Zand will reflect on their experiences at Newhouse and career paths and the lessons they have learned, and will also discuss current jobs, consultant work and their tactics for applying Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and other social media tools to get results for clients and companies.
